The summer season is well underway and we’ve seen a few nice runs from our horses. Rose Of Siena ran a nice race to finish second at Cartmel on Monday and Release The Kraken was also second at Uttoxeter on Thursday. She’s A Rocca was fifth at Uttoxeter, but only beaten 4.5 lengths and also lost a front shoe during the race. Caius Marcius, now 11, ran a great race to finish third at Market Rasen, being beaten by younger legs. He’s been a fantastic horse over the years and it would be great if he could notch up another win this summer.

There were more prizes won this week, when Nicky’s Granddaughters, Lily and Annie, went to a local show with their pony Merlin. They came home with 7 rosettes between them, including two firsts! It was their first show and they have certainly set themselves a good standard to maintain!

In the last week we have seen two of our retired horses head to their new homes. Both are not far away and have settled in well.

Danny McMenamin celebrated his birthday on Saturday, and at 22 years old he has had a successful start to his career. He’s had a total of 125 winners, including 3 wins in Graded races and we are lucky to have him as part of our team.

GOFFS Land Rover Sales

Nicky has been studying the catalogue over the last few weeks and is now over in Ireland looking at those he’s selected. The sales begin today and we’re excited to see which lots he manages to secure – we will also be enjoying the peace and quiet whilst he is away for the week! We look forward to welcoming some more potential stars to Greystoke and will share them with you when they arrive.
