Upon Tweed breezes home at Ayr for Nicky Richards
The hugely talented and highly promising 5 year old Berkshire gelding Upon Tweed made a sparkling debut over hurdles today at Ayr for trainer Nicky Richards and owner Eddie Melville.
Always close up on the outside in the 2 mile Rest At Neilston EBF National Hunt Novices Hurdle, jockey Danny McMenamin produced him to lead jumping the second last to cruise away for a eight and half length victory over his 14 rivals.
The way Upon Tweed demolished his rivals makes the future look extremely bright for son of Berkshire.
This win followed his only other racecourse appearance at Newcastle in February of this year where he blew away 9 rivals to win by eight and half lengths in a 2 mile bumper.
It looks exciting times at Greystoke with horses of the calibre of Upon Tweed to go to war with this season
