The Kid and Famous Bridge deliver for Nicky Richards at Xmas

Nicky Richards’ stable started its Xmas celebrations early when firstly The Kalooki Kid bolted up in the Bet 365 novices hurdle at Newcastle today.  Held up at the back of the field by Danny McMenamin, he made smooth progress to lead to out and stormed away to win by 7 lengths.

Better was to come when the highly talented Famous Bridge lined up for the prestigious Betfred Tommy Whittle Chase at Haydock. Held up in midfield by Sean Quinlan in the 3 mile one and half furlong chase, he made progress to challenge over the last 3 fences to win comfortably by one length.  This followed Nicky’s father Gordon winning the race 3 times. The future looks very exciting for Famous Bridge.

Nicky’s only other runner Mille of Mayo ran a great race to finish second later in the day.

The Greystoke team are in fantastic form and deserve any celebrations they have time for, but no doubt it will be hard work as usual over the festive season.
