Brilliant Nells Son delivers at Kelso for Nicky Richards

Nells Son put up a scintillating performance at Kelso on Sunday to win the Richard Landale Memorial Chase over 2 miles 1 furlong. This was great tonic for his trainer Nicky Richards who is recovering from many broken bones after a fall on the gallops early last week.

Nells Son was settled in midfield by Danny McMenamin, making progress to track the clear leader Matata. Jumping the 3rd last fence, Danny produced Nell’s to challenge jumping the last. He quickened after the last to win by a neck pricking his ears.

This follows Nell’s Son win in graduation chase at Carlisle a few weeks ago and made it 3 wins out of its last 4 races for Nell’s Son.

Earlier in the day Young Getaway ran a very promising race in the Novice Hurdle.

This continues the fine form of the Greystoke stable. Let’s hope this provides great boost for Nicky and helps him in his recovery.
