In Greystoke Galloper

It’s a Treble and wins 1003 , 1004 and 1005 for Nicky Richards at Carlisle on Saturday

The scintillating form of Nicky Richards Greystoke stable continued at Carlisle on Saturday. It started when Big Zouk powered home in Feel Good Friday 29 th of May Novices Handicap Chase over 3 miles. Always disputing the leader under his jockey Sean Quinlan, Big Zouk stormed into a clear lead on the run to the last fence and stayed on strongly to win by 3 and quarter lengths.

The day got even better when Jupiter Des Mottes won the Bell and Plate June Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles one furlongs thirty minutes later.  Settled in behind the leaders in the marathon trip by Jockey Danny McMenamin, Jupiter Des Mottes always travelled powerfully and when Danny asked the 7 year old to quicken approaching the last hurdle he quickly put the race to bed storming clear to win by 3 and half lengths. There looks much more improvement in the 7 year old for owner Mr Anthony Peter Fowler. #

The day finished on another high when Jamesieconn won the Flat Seasons Opener Monday 19 May Handicap Chase over 3 miles. Sent straight into the lead when the tapes went up ,jockey Danny McMenamin controlled the race from the front with the 7 year old jumping well throughout the 3 mile trip. When Danny asked Jamesieconn to shake off his pursuers over the last 3 fences he responded and galloped on strongly to win by 2 lengths in the famous black and white striped colours of his owner David Armstrong.

To complete a truly memorable day for the Greystoke yard, Nicky won the National Hunt trainer of the year for the most winners at Carlisle in the 2025 / 2026 season.

The brilliant form of the yard is a testament to the hard and dedicated work of Nicky and all his staff
