Our facilities are instrumental to the success of our horses on the track and we believe that we have a unique blend of factors here at Greystoke, which give us a competitive advantage when we take our horses racing.
We especially try to ensure that our horses have longevity on the track and this is partly due to our training methods which prevent early burnout and help maximise an owner’s investment in their racehorse, by extending the horse’s racing career. The horses are trained on the Greystoke Castle Estate where we have our fantastic wood chip gallop, access to Summergrounds (The Hill) with unbroken views to Blencathra and the Cumbrian Fells, schooling hurdles & fences and acres and acres of parkland and fell combine to relax the horses whilst they do their work.
At Rectory Farm, there are more schooling fences, brush hurdles, an indoor ride and an all-weather canter. We are also fortunate to be surrounded by turnout paddocks and large fields where the horses can enjoy their downtime.
