Anglers Crag puts up Great Performance for Nicky Richards in the Valuable Eider Chase at Newcastle
The evergreen 11 year old put up a storming performance in the 4 miles 1 furlong marathon Virgin Bet Daily Extra Places Eider Handicap Chase at Newcastle on Saturday.
Having won for on his stable debut for Nicky Richards at the end of November at Carlisle, Nicky had prepared him perfectly for the the big race at Newcastle on Saturday and gave particular praise for Harry Haynes who rides him every day in his work.
The 11 year old made just about all of the running at Newcastle, jumping brilliantly at most of the fences and beat of all challenges throughout the race. He was given a great ride by Nicky’s stable jockey Danny McMenamin who seemed at one with Anglers Crag throughout the race.
The win gave enormous pleasure to Anglers Crags owner breeder Mr Derrick Mossop, Anglers Crag having won the 2025 Eider for him under previous trainer Brian Ellison.
This continues the fine form of the Greystoke stable
