In Greystoke Galloper

Jamesieconn Continues the Nicky Richards Purple Patch at Hexham

Nicky Richards Greystoke stable continued their winning streak at Hexham yesterday when Jamesieconn won the Mick Walsh Open Ditch Handicap Chase over 3 miles.

Always prominent under jockey Danny McMenamin he was one of four who came to the last fence with a chance , but once Danny shook him up on the run In Jamesieconn responded gamely to win a shade cosily by half a length.  The 7 year old was winning his fourth race on the trot for owner D Armstrong and continued the remarkable form of the Lake District stable.

Although the purple of patch of the Nicky Richards continued yesterday and everything looks shiny and rosy, National Hunt racing can hit you back very hard as yesterday showed when Nicky lost the Talented Young Getaway after a fall in the second race at Hexham yesterday.  Our thoughts and sympathy go to its owner Mrs Pat Sloan and the staff who cared for Young Getaway every day of his life.
