Latosca Du Houx makes a a sparkling racecourse debut for Nicky Richards at Ayr yesterday
The 5 year old grey mare Latosca Du Houx made a brilliant racecourse debut for its owners Cheltenham For Breakfast and its trainer Nicky Richards at Ayr yesterday.
Two of the biggest stables in Europe – Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliot – were represented with runners in the race. Jockey Sean Quinlan settled the mare at the back of the field while the Mullins runner Goulmichette set a strong pace and built up a commanding lead. Turning out of the back straight Sean began to close on the Mullins runner with Poetic Twist the Gordon Elliott runner. Approaching the 2 furlong marker Sean sent Latosca Du Houx to the front, and the mare sauntered clear to win the Watch On Racing T V Mares Open NH Flat Race by 12 lengths.
This continues the fine form of the Nicky Richards stable and this mare looks to have an exciting future for owners and the Nicky Richards Greystoke stable.
