Castle Rushen shows the fire still burns in win at Carlisle

Nicky Richards 9 year Castle Rushen ran a great race at Carlisle on Saturday, gamely battling on to beat Dunnet Head by a head in the 2 mile 3 furlong Stephex Trucks U K Castletown handicap hurdle. Castle Rushen tracked the leaders before staying on strongly on the run in to lead in the last 100 yards.

He is owned by Hemmings Racing one of Nicky’s long standing supporters, and this win gave Nicky special pleasure after his long association with the late great Trevor Hemmings.

Todays victory continues the sparkling for Nicky Richards Greystoke team.
