20/21 Season Overview
As another season draws to an end we look back on some memorable racing days as well as looking forward to some exciting prospects for next season.
One of the biggest highlights for us was Takingrisks winning the SkyBet Chase at Doncaster in January. He has been a wonderful horse to train and we will see how he is after his summer holidays.
Earlier in the season saw My Old Gold take the Mares’ Listed Chase at our local track, Carlisle. She has been so consistent throughout her career with us and now heads off for her next chapter at stud, where she is due to be covered by Walk In The Park. We look forward to seeing her offspring make appearances on the racecourse over the coming years. If they inherit any of her ability and attitude they’ll be a great horse to train. Hannah has ridden My Old Gold everyday for the last few seasons and has done a fantastic job with her, she will miss her very much but knows she’ll be a great mum and is retiring from racing happy and sound.
March was the month when Guitar Pete hung up his racing plates, and today he headed to his new home in Lincolnshire where he will have a happy retirement and will likely be seen crossing the country with the local hunt. See the video below of his plush new pad.

We would like to congratulate Danny McMenamin on becoming Champion Conditional Jockey. He has worked hard and his efforts have been rewarded. We wish him all the best for next season and with no jump racing for the next week, he and everyone else can enjoy a well deserved rest.

We will keep our social media pages updated over the summer and look forward to seeing you all (hopefully back at racecourses!) very soon…
