It’s 17 and upwards for  the brilliant Caius Marcius

Last Monday Nicky Richard’s remarkable 12 year old made the 14 hour round trip down to Newton Abbot to contest the Attheraces on twitter 2 miles 5 furlongs handicap hurdle.

Settled at the back, Caius, under champion jockey Brian Hughes, made steady progress on the last circuit to challenge at the last hurdle and quicken past his rivals to win by a length.

Brian Hughes was glowing in his praise of the 12 year old after the race in his tv interview he said:

Caius is a credit to Nicky and all the team at Greystoke and has been a horse of a lifetime for his owners. Such is Caius determination and ability I doubt he has finished visits to the winners enclosure.
